I think at this moment in time I was writing something for our blog.
Do not let my focused face fool you: I was feeling the heat!
December is by far our busiest month of the year.
It’s the closest candle making gets to feeling high-adrenaline.
There’s twice as much activity in every aspect of our business and it is a genuine struggle to keep up. On a human level it’s exhilarating, and inevitably, somewhat exhausting.
Last year we started taking the week off between Christmas and the New Year, and continued with that tradition this year. So I am fresh back from the longest break I have taken in a long while, which included popping back home to see my family in the UK.
Stepping back reminded me that time taken away from our work is not “unproductive”.
In the act of resting, our brains defog and continue solving things.
The clarity that comes from easing back is often a catalyst for creativity and inspiration.
So as we head into January, Harry and I are reminding the Keap team (and ourselves) to take it easy. We have a whole year ahead of us, and a whole new decade to explore.
We live in a culture full of hares; but the tortoise always wins.... 🐢
